DownloadBOLD Theatre 2534 is excited to announce this year’s fall musical: Mean Girls! High School Version
Based on the hit film by Tina Fey, this sharp, high-energy show takes audiences inside the unpredictable world of high school popularity, identity, and the pressure to fit in.
With unforgettable characters, bold humor, and a modern pop score, Mean Girls explores what it means to find your place—and what happens when you lose yourself trying to belong.
Mean Girls is a satirical stage production intended for mature audiences (PG-13). While the show is filled with humor, music, and high-energy entertainment, it also intentionally explores difficult but very real issues facing young people today—including bullying, social pressure, toxic friendships, social media harm, and the consequences of the words we use.
The purpose of theatre is not only to entertain, but also to challenge, reflect, and spark conversation. This production was chosen not to glorify any of these behaviors, but to shine a light on them in a way that encourages empathy, accountability, and self-reflection.
We believe meaningful theatre should not be watered down simply because it may make some people uncomfortable. Honest storytelling matters, and our students are capable of handling thoughtful, challenging material with maturity and care.
Because of the themes and language included in the script, this production is rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for all audiences. It contains strong language, sexual innuendo, and references to partying, sex, drugs, and alcohol. These elements are part of the story’s world and message.
We believe stories like this matter because they create space for important conversations that students and families are often already navigating in real life.
If these themes are not something you feel comfortable engaging with or allowing your teen to participate in, we completely understand that this may not be the right production for you and we hope to see you in another show in the future.

Auditions for Mean Girls: The Musical (High School Version) are open to all students grades 6–12. This is your chance to step into a high-energy, fast-paced production and be part of one of the most exciting shows of the year.
Auditions will be held in a structured, supportive environment designed to help you succeed. Students will sign up for a time slot and come prepared with the required audition materials. No prior experience is required—just preparation, effort, and a willingness to take direction.
Callbacks will be held for selected students and will focus on specific roles, including reading scenes and working through character interactions. Being called back does not guarantee a role, and not being called back does not mean you won’t be cast.
Casting decisions are based on preparation- including knowing the song and the acting piece, coming in costume for the character, great attitude and work ethic, your availability, and overall fit for the production. This is a team-based process, and every role matters.
