THEATRE WORKSHOP

WHAT?

An intensive Theatre Club workshop focused on scene work, character development, and ensemble storytelling using material from the famous play, Leaving Iowa. Students will explore text, relationships, timing, and emotional truth through guided acting exercises and structured scene work.

This is a skills-based workshop designed to strengthen performance technique and confidence.   Leaving Iowa strengthens a college application because it is a character-driven, ensemble-based play that requires emotional maturity, textual precision, and collaboration. The use of doubling, restrained acting, and modern storytelling shows colleges that students can handle complex material, take direction, and commit to serious work beyond competition or spectacle.

WHERE?

In the rehearsal space.  Date: Feb 9,12,16,19  Time; 6-8PM

WHY?

This workshop gives students the opportunity to:

  • Build stronger acting fundamentals
  • Practice working with realistic, character-driven material
  • Develop listening, intention, and emotional clarity
  • Prepare for the next audition. (New info coming soon!)
  • Grow confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment

The skills developed here will support students in future theatre opportunities, both onstage and beyond.  No registration required.
Just show up ready to work.
