

An intensive Theatre Club workshop focused on scene work, character development, and ensemble storytelling using material from the famous play, Leaving Iowa. Students will explore text, relationships, timing, and emotional truth through guided acting exercises and structured scene work.
This is a skills-based workshop designed to strengthen performance technique and confidence. Leaving Iowa strengthens a college application because it is a character-driven, ensemble-based play that requires emotional maturity, textual precision, and collaboration. The use of doubling, restrained acting, and modern storytelling shows colleges that students can handle complex material, take direction, and commit to serious work beyond competition or spectacle.
